I am a native born Californian (a very rare
breed). Was born in Los Angeles, and currently live in beautiful Redondo Beach.
I am married, no kids, 1 cat.
I have been in the consumer electronics
industry for almost 29 years and currently work for a large mobile electronics
manufacturer, involved in marketing and product planning activities. I have always been into car audio,
and have been really fortunate to be able to combine my hobby with a paying job!
Being in the business has enable me to stay current with all the latest trends
in car audio, and my involvement in product research and planning lets me be
involved in all the cool new stuff that will be coming to market in the next few
years.
I have always been into cars. I have owned
a few in my time, almost all of them performance vehicles. Prior to the Nissan
350Z, I had a Grand Prix GTP that was somewhat modded (smaller supercharger
pulley, cold air intake and reprogrammed engine management computer), a 1999 Pontiac Firebird Firehawk (a limited edition Trans Am),
and a 1997 Trans Am (that was highly modified for Auto Cross and drag racing). I
helped to form one of the largest f-body websites on the West Coast, So Cal
F-Bodies, with about 175 members currently.
Besides electronics and fast cars, my other
major interest is in boating and salt water fishing. Living near the Pacific
Ocean has it's benefits if you are into deep sea fishing as I am. I also am an
avid boater, and have a pretty nice fishing boat.
Boating

My wife and I
were very lucky to be able to purchase this boat from it's original owner.
It is a 1997
Bayliner 2858 Command Bridge cruiser. It's total length is 32' (including the
swim step), and it's beam (width) is 10'. It has dual control stations (one on
the flybridge and one below in the cabin), and is powered by a Mercruiser Marine
big block 454 with a Holly 4 BBL carb. It uses a Bravo II out drive, and top
speed is about 30 knot's (34mph).
It has a
complete galley with stove, microwave, refrigerator, and sink. The head
(bathroom to you landlubbers!) has a manual flush toilet and a shower with hot
and cold water. The boat can sleep 6, 2 in the forward V-berth, 2 under the
settee, and 2 more if the dining area is converted into a bed.
It has been
outfitted for fishing with a live bait bag and bait pump, 10 rod holders, and a
fishbox under the deck. The electrical system has been upgraded with three
batteries; 2 deep cycle for the boat accessories and 1 starting battery for the
engine. They are totally isolated to prevent having three dead batteries, but
can be paralleled for emergency starting. A Statpower 20 amp battery
charger/power supply keeps the batteries charged while dockside, and supplies 12
volt power for the all of the accessories on board (lights, audio/video system,
etc.) The boat also has a Furuno GPS color chartplotter navigation system with
a built-in fishfinder, and a Sitex Radar system.
And last but
not least, the Audio/Video system. (what did you expect, I am in the business!)
A Clarion CD head unit controls a Clarion 6 disc CD changer, a TV Tuner, DVD
deck, and 3 LCD color monitors. 1 monitor faces the settee, 1 is in the V-berth,
and the 3rd is on the flybridge. Clarion 6 1/2" 2 way separates speakers are in
the main cabin, and outside, a pair of Marine waterproof 6 1/2" coaxial speakers
are mounted in the radar arch. A 10" Marine subwoofer is mounted in the cabin,
and the system is powered by, of course, a Clarion 5 channel power amplifier.
